During the 1890’s a number of swing bridges were constructed along the Willochra Creek in the vicinity of Melrose.
Mount Remarkable Hotel This hotel replaced the original pug and pine inn built by one of the early police troopers at Melrose. The two storied building has lintels of red gum and timer shingles still visible in places. It has a quaint balcony and two single story wings that form a courtyard at the rear.
